The Storm

The Storm
© 2011 Tom D Blakely

The night sky hangs forebodingly
With storm clouds in a whirl
Yet though our ship is tempest tossed
God’s children fear no ill.

The waves rise up like rolling hills
Above our heads they tower
But Jesus is our Captain’s name
He keeps us by His power.

Believer, trust in Christ the Lord
Though cold waves sting your face
For all the struggles of this life
Will help you grow in grace.

Endure my friend for soon we’ll see
The calm beyond the storm
A peace that lasts forever more
A harbour safe in heaven.
