God Is My Refuge

God Is My Refuge
© 2011 Tom D Blakely

God is my refuge and my strength, therefore I will not fear.
In darkest hours He is my help; always my Lord is near.
Though mountains fall into the sea, and waters foam and roar;
Earth may give way, but this I know, God keeps me evermore.

There is a river from on high, that makes the thirsty glad;
Life-giving streams flow down from heaven, blessing my soul O Lord.
How could this vessel where You dwell, ever be lost, or fall?
You are my help in times of need, You Lord are over all!

Come let us see the works of God, how kingdoms are brought low.
God lifts His voice and by His word, great nations come and go.
Be still and know that I am God! to me the Lord has said.
He is my fortress and my might, why should I be afraid?

[From Psalm 46]
