The Good Shepherd

The Good Shepherd
© 2011 Tom D Blakely

The Shepherd once gave His life for His sheep
Now all who are His He will keep.
Though troubles surround and danger is near
With the Shepherd they never need to fear. . . .

The Shepherd is calling the lost to His fold
God’s mercy is offered to young and to old.
Leave pride on the hillside, come down to the door
In Christ find forgiveness and life, life evermore.

The Shepherd is Christ the doorway to heav’n
The sheep are the lost He will claim.
The hillside is death for those who stay there
When salvation awaits at the door. . . .

Jesus said: ‘I am the door of the sheep.’
[John 10:7]
