We often find it difficult
When others do us wrong
But if we want to follow Christ
In faith we must be strong.
When Christ our Lord was crucified
By cruel, sinful men
He did not ask to be avenged
Instead He prayed for them.

If we want God to forgive us
For all the wrong we’ve done
We must forgive those who wrong us
As taught by Christ God’s Son.
As Jesus suffered for our sin
And lovingly forgave
We must forgive as He has done
To always know God’s love.

‘For if you forgive men their trespasses,
your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
But if you do not forgive men their trespasses,
neither will your Father forgive your trespasses.’
[Matthew 6:14-15]
