A Wonderful Saviour
© 2014 Tom D Blakely
~

I saw a crowd gathered on a hill
Just outside the gates of a city wall.
And in their midst hung a dying man,
On a cross they crucified Jesus. . .

[Chorus]
Jesus, how I praise Your name
You’re the One I love, more than anyone.
Jesus, How I praise the name
Of my wonderful, wonderful Saviour.

I thank You Lord that You used the cross
To turn Jesus’ death, into life for us.
When we believe and repent of sin,
Jesus’ precious blood will save us. . .

I know my Lord sits in glory now
As the heavenly host at His feet do bow.
And all His own will be there some day
And will ever more sing His praises. . .

Ascent Of The King!
© 2017 Tom D Blakely
~

Lift up your heads O you gates
Prepare for the Lord to come in!
The King of glory returns
Victorious over all sin!

Open O you ancient doors
Make way for Christ Jesus your King!
The Lord ascends from the earth
His heavenly throne to reclaim!

Glory and honour are His
Twice worthy, as God and as Man!
He is the Lamb that was slain
All praise the ascent of the King!

All praise the ascent of the King!

~

“Lift up your heads, O you gates!
And be lifted up, you everlasting doors!
And the King of glory shall come in.”

At The Cross
© 2011 Tom D Blakely
~

Come kneel at the cross and reflect on Jesus’ death.
Pray God by His grace will illuminate your faith.
See His blood trickle down,
Softly drip to the ground;
Could our sin, cost the Lord, such a price?

Bow down to the Lord all you children of the King.
Come call on His name and together we will sing.
Of His love for us all,
Of His death on the cross;
To forgive, and prepare, us for heaven.

Atonement
© 2012 Tom D Blakely
~

Our God who made the world
And every living thing,
Declared that everyone who sinned
Should an atonement bring.
The wage of sin is death
Though pardon there might be,
For if another paid the price
The guilty might go free…

So may we praise the name
Of Jesus Christ our Lord!
The One who shed His precious blood…
The Ho-ly Lamb of God.

In days before the cross
When Israel had sinned,
The sacrificial lamb was slain
A cover for their sin.
The pardon’s in the blood
Today, as much as then,
If we make Christ our sacrifice
Our sin will be forgiven….

So may we praise the name
Of Jesus Christ our Lord!
The One who shed His precious blood…
The Ho-ly Lamb of God.

‘…Behold! The Lamb of God, who takes away the sin of the world!’

Because Of Who You Are!
© 2015 Tom D Blakely
~

All that exists in time and space
Is under God’s domain
And every creature large or small
God knows it by its name.
Before creation ever dawned
The Lord God had decreed
Mankind will rule all lesser things
In God’s image we are made.

Because of who You are
Because of who You are…
We worship, praise and honour You
Because of who You are!

~

There is none greater than our God
Creator of all things
So may our daily lives reflect
The scale of what this means.
For though we wandered far from God
And since our birth rebelled
God showed compassion to mankind
And judgment He withheld.

Because of who You are
Because of who You are…
We worship, praise and honour You
Because of who You are!

~

Although we treated God with scorn
And lived as if alone
So many times God spoke to us
That we might come to Him.
And at the last He came to us
By sending us His Son
When Jesus died, He died for us
Through faith we are forgiven.

Because of who You are
Because of who You are…
We worship, praise and honour You
Because of who You are!

Calvary, O Calvary
© 2012 W A Zamorano
~

Long ago on Calvary’s hill
Time stood still, yes time stood still
When the Son fulfilled God’s will
Time stood still, yes time stood still.

Calvary, O Calvary
Where my Savior died for me
O my Lord, where would we be
If it were not for Calvary.

Long ago on Calvary’s hill
Time stood still, yes time stood still
When the sinless Lamb was killed
Time stood still, yes time stood still.

Calvary, O Calvary
Where my Savior died for me
O my Lord, where would we be
If it were not for Calvary.

Long ago on Calvary’s hill
Time stood still, yes time stood still
When His precious Blood was spilled
Time stood still, yes time stood still.

Calvary, O Calvary
Where my Savior died for me
O my Lord, where would we be
If it were not for Calvary
If it were not for Calvary.

Christ Died For You And Me
© 2013 Tom D Blakely
~

We turn our eyes upon the cross
And there by faith we see
The dying Lord, our sacrifice…
Christ died for you and me.

In agony He suffered there
He paid our penalty
Our sin He took upon Himself…
Christ died for you and me.

Why would God give His only Son
To die at Calvary?
With love we cannot understand…
Christ died for you and me.

Today by faith and faith alone
From sin we may be free
When we repent of sin, we know…
Christ died for you and me.

Christ Is Risen!
© 2015 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

The death of Jesus on the Cross
Left His disciples feeling loss
Three days had passed since He was gone
They came His body to embalm.

Two women came at break of day
To see where Jesus’ body lay
The entrance stone was rolled away
The tomb was empty on that day!

He conquered sin, death, Hell and grave
He gave Himself, our lives to save!
Because He lives, we live in Him
Praise God our Savior, Christ is risen!

~

An angel spoke: Christ is not dead
For He is risen as He said!
Such joyful news the women heard
This was a message to be shared!

Today with joy, we too rejoice
And in accord lift up our voice
He lives! He lives! Our Savior lives!
This is our song of thankful praise!

He conquered sin, death, Hell and grave
He gave Himself, our lives to save!
Because He lives, we live in Him
Praise God our Savior, Christ is risen!

Christ Paid The Price
© 2012 Tom D Blakely
~

No good in us can earn God’s peace
In Christ alone is righteousness.
So when He hung upon the cross
Christ paid the price of sin for us.

Because of sin we should be lost.
But Jesus died to pay the cost.
For when He hung upon the cross
Christ paid the price of sin for us.

The way was made by God Himself
It is a gift received by faith.
When we meet Jesus at the cross
God takes the guilt of sin from us.

Easter speaks –
what does it say?
It says that Christ
has made the way!

Easter speaks –
of truth, of light –
of resurrection,
Jesus bright!

For you, for me…
for all who seek…
through Christ the Lord,
Easter speaks!

~

Easter’s speaking
from the cross –
of life renewed,
of win, not loss.

Easter speaks
of victory,
and love of Christ –
eternity!

For you, for me…
for all who seek…
through Christ the Lord,
Easter speaks!

Glory, Glory, Lamb Of God
© 2016 Tom D Blakely
~

[flute intro]

Glory, glory, Lamb of God
How we thank You for the blood
That You shed upon the cross
All for sinners just like us.

O how precious is the blood
That gives sinners peace with God.
Nothing but Your righteous blood
Can remove our sin, O Lord.

~

Nothing that we say or do
Can remove our sin from view
Only washed in Jesus’ blood
We may stand before our God.

O how precious is the blood
That gives sinners peace with God.
Nothing but Your righteous blood
Can remove our sin, O Lord.

~

Glory, glory, Lamb of God
For atonement by Your blood
By your perfect sacrifice
We are saved by simple faith.

O how precious is the blood
That gives sinners peace with God.
Nothing but Your righteous blood
Can remove our sin, O Lord.

Happy Easter Morning!
© 2015 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

~

Have a Happy Easter morning!
Bless the day our Savior came,
Thank and praise Him without ceasing
On the Cross He bore our shame.
When from death’s dark tomb He rose up
Christ came forth victoriously!
As He conquered death and Satan
He won all to set us free!

Our Dear Lord faced death with courage
Paid for all our guilt and sin,
His Own precious blood flowed freely
Cleansing us for life in Him.
Now when we face death, there’s new life
And no punishment for sin,
Praise and Glory to Christ always
In Him our new life begins!

Have a Happy Easter morning!
Bless the day our Savior came,
Thank and praise Him without ceasing
On the Cross He bore our shame.
Sing this Happy Easter morning!
Celebrate Christ’s Victory!
For this reason He was born here
All to save and set us free!
Alleluia!

‘But the angel said to the women, Do not be afraid;
for I know that you seek Jesus who was crucified.
He is not here; for He has risen, as He said.
Come, see the place where He lay.’

I Am A Worm
© 2017 Tom D Blakely
~

O Lord forgive us!

A lowly creature is a worm
That man might easily step upon.
And this was done to Christ God’s Son
Who prophesied Himself a worm!
Lord as You hung, upon the cross
This speaks of weakness, helplessness
To do God’s will was why You came
Enduring scorn and shame!

O Lord forgive us!

And when our sins were laid on You
God could not keep You in His view.
In torment You were on Your own
The only time God left His Son!
In pain of flesh and mind and soul
And for our sins, You bore it all!
No greater love was ever known
Nor strength of purpose shown!

O Lord forgive us!

Ascended now our glorious King
This powerful truth in praise we sing.
You came to earth to show us God
His justice which on You was laid!
Without Your death we’d have no song
The time You called Yourself a worm!
The day You suffered, bled and died
When You were crucified!

O Lord forgive us!

~

“But I am a worm, and no man;
A reproach of men, and despised by the people.”
[Psalm 22.6]

I See The Cross
© 2016 June Stein
~

Within my mind I see the Cross
Where Jesus hung in agony,
Yet no one came to His defense
To save Him from that wretched tree.

Christ suffered there until He died
And then was placed into a tomb;
Sealed with a stone, and guarded well
To prove that He was dead and gone.

But on the morn of the third day
The Roman guards were terrified!
An angel came and moved the stone
Death could not hold the Son of God!

And to His own, the angel said
Christ is not here, He is not dead,
This is good news for all to hear
He has arose, just as He said!

~

““Now after the Sabbath, as the first day of the week began to dawn, Mary Magdalene and the other Mary came to see the tomb. And behold, there was a great earthquake; for an angel of the Lord descended from heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door, and sat on it. His countenance was like lightning, and his clothing as white as snow. And the guards shook for fear of him, and became like dead men.”
[Matthew 28:1-4]

Intervention
© 2016 Tom D Blakely
~

[instrumental intro]

Nothing within me
Could gain God’s favour
Even my good deeds
Were all spoilt by sin.

Lord God almighty
Holy and righteous
Thank You for Your grace
And Your precious Son.

On a cross far away
Intervention was made
Holy blood Jesus shed for our sin.
There was no other way
To make peace with our God
Now by faith sinners may be forgiven.

~

Jesus my Saviour
There is no other
You and You alone
Died to set me free.

Now I can enter
God’s holy presence
Knowing I am saved
For eternity.

On a cross far away
Intervention was made
Holy blood Jesus shed for our sin.
There was no other way
To make peace with our God
Now by faith sinners may be forgiven.

It Is Finished!
© 2017 Tom D Blakely
~

It is finished! Jesus cried
It is finished, and it is.
We are reconciled to God
When we know Christ died for us.

It is finished, we will know
When by faith we do believe;
When we bow the knee to Christ
All who do He will receive.

It is finished, and it is
Jesus paid the price of sin
So that we might know our God
Be eternally forgiven!

~

“So when Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, ‘It is finished!’
And bowing His head, He gave up His spirit.”

Jesus Lives!
© 2014 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

~

Jesus died on Calvary’s Cross
Yet He lives today,
Friends would take His body down
Blinking tears away.
Then they sadly carried Him
To another’s tomb,
Until after Sabbath Day
That’s all they could do.

Then they found an empty tomb
With an angel there,
Telling them that Christ had risen
Just as He declared.
He appeared to many friends
In the coming days,
Proving that He was alive
As He came to them!

We will live again with Christ
When we trust in Him,
Earthly death is not our end
Christ in us gives life.
Life forevermore in Heaven
Joyful Victory!
Singing praises to our God
Praise to Jesus Christ!
Praise to Jesus Christ!

~

‘We were buried therefore with Him by baptism into death,
so that as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father,
we too might walk in newness of life.’

Life For Life
© 2016 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

~

Jesus’ love requires of us
to love others in His Name,
How could we not in response
strive to see His Love proclaimed.
We were lost and without hope
till the Father sent His Son,
To bear all our guilt and sin
that we might in Him be one.

Love alone could bring our Lord
from His Father’s side to earth,
To take on the flesh of man
that we all might have new birth.
Living here from babe to man
to fulfill His Father’s will,
As the Sacrificial Lamb
gave His life, to life instill.

In His blood upon the cross
all our sin is washed away,
It was shed to save the lost
and it gives us life today.
When we freely take His gift
with belief and love for Christ,
All His righteousness is ours
and in Him, eternal life!

~

“Since we have now been justified by His blood,
how much more shall we be saved from God’s wrath through Him?
For if, when we were God’s enemies, we were reconciled to Him through
the death of His Son, how much more having been reconciled,
shall we be saved through His life!”
[Romans 5:9-10]

Love Beyond All Telling
© 2013 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

~

Jesus Christ our Savior,
Holy Lamb, God’s sacrifice,
On the Cross redeemed us,
Took our sin and paid the price!
Now the tomb is empty,
And the stone is rolled away.
Happy, glorious morning,
Christ the Lord is risen today!

Love beyond all telling,
Love that took Him to the Cross.
Alleluia! Praise Him!
Jesus has redeemed the lost!

Death and Hell Christ conquered,
He has opened Heaven’s door.
In Him, we’re victorious,
Sin can’t bind us anymore!
We will live forever,
With our Lord in Paradise.
Satan’s curse is broken,
Christ destroyed it with His life!

Love beyond all telling,
Love that took Him to the Cross.
Alleluia! Praise Him!
Jesus has redeemed the lost!

Man Of Sorrows
Philip P Bliss (1875)
Music Tom D Blakely

~

“Man of Sorrows!” what a name
For the Son of God, who came
Ruined sinners to reclaim
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Bearing shame and scoffing rude,
In my place condemned He stood;
Sealed my pardon with His blood.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Guilty, vile, and helpless we;
Spotless Lamb of God was He;
“Full atonement!” can it be?
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Lifted up was He to die;
“It is finished!” was His cry;
Now in Heaven exalted high.
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

When He comes, our glorious King,
All His ransomed home to bring,
Then anew His song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

Then anew His song we’ll sing:
Hallelujah! What a Savior!

On a hillside crowds had gathered
There to watch the crucified.
What had Jesus done to suffer
Such a cruel death as this? . . . .

[chorus]
Jesus, Jesus, precious Saviour
You are worthy of all praise.
Dying for the sins of many
Blood most holy shed for us.

Only Jesus can redeem us
Clear our awful debt of sin.
When God calls us may we answer
Trust in Christ and be forgiven. . . .

Rising Of The Son!
© 2015 Tom D Blakely
~

[whistle intro]

We rebelled against God’s sovereignty
In Eden long ago
When we chose the devil’s side instead
Now sin is all we know.
In a sinful world we cannot see
The holiness of God
Nor can understand the gravity
And way He must respond.

By the rising of the Son of God
The rising of the Son!
There is peace with God forever
By the rising of the Son!

~

In God’s grace and love and righteousness
Which we can’t comprehend
God poured out the judgment for our sin
On Christ to make amends.
Now there is no judgment for all those
Who come to God through Christ
When they trust in His redeeming blood
Sin’s only sacrifice.

By the rising of the Son of God
The rising of the Son!
There is peace with God forever
By the rising of the Son!

~

Jesus died upon a cross for us
And suffered for our sin
Then He overcame the power of death
And rose again to heaven.
In a sinful world we cannot see
The holiness of God
But in simple faith we can receive
A pardon through Christ’s blood!

By the rising of the Son of God
The rising of the Son!
There is peace with God forever
By the rising of the Son!

They crucified God’s only Son
They nailed Him to a cross.
He freely shed His precious blood
Jesus died for us…
Now and ever may we sing
Praises to our Saviour King.

At Calvary He bore our sins
He died for you and me.
And “It is finished” was God’s sign
Seal of victory…
Now and ever may we sing
Praises to our Saviour King.

Now He is risen from the grave
We can rejoice and sing.
For Jesus lives forevermore
As our Saviour King…
Now and ever may we sing
Praises to our Saviour King.

Salvation
© 2011 Tom D Blakely
~

For all have sinned and all need a Saviour
Or else they must pay for each blameworthy deed:
Bad thoughts and words and every wrong action
The cost of rebelling from God. . .
Though the wages for sinning is death without end
Banished from God forever and without reprieve.
All those who trust in Jesus as Saviour
God’s pardon for sin will receive.

For God so loved the world that He gave us
His only Son Jesus to die for our sin;
Upon the cross His blood made atonement
And opened the doorway to heaven. . .
Though the wages for sinning is death without end
Banished from God forever and without reprieve.
By faith in Christ all can obtain mercy
Who turn from their sin and believe.

Stairway To Heaven
© 2011 Tom D Blakely
~

To be my Redeemer the Lord came from heaven
Leaving glory and splendour to die for my sin.
There’s a stairway to heaven, from the hill, Calvary
Through the death of my Saviour, it’s open to me.

As heaven is holy, none dare enter in
Unless cleansed in the blood of the Lamb once slain.
There’s a stairway to heaven, from the hill, Calvary
Through the death of my Saviour, it’s open to me.

There is hope for the fallen, aware of their sin
For by faith in the Saviour they will be forgiven.
There’s a stairway to heaven, from the hill, Calvary
Through the death of my Saviour, it’s open to me.

Such Love!
© 2017 June Stein
Music Tom D Blakely

~

Lord place within my heart and soul
A love for You that’s truly whole,
And may it shine in all I do
That I might live to honor You.
Although I want to give my all
I stumble many times and fall,
Too many things draw me away
Though worthy they cause me to stray.

Lord You are all my strength and hope
For You alone help me to cope,
Thank You for blessings undeserved
And grace that makes me want to serve.
Such love and praise to You I owe
For me You made Yourself so low;
You gave Your life upon the cross
Your blood was shed to save the lost.

Death could not hold You in the tomb
 You rose again that Easter morn;
To conquer sin and death and Hell
Is why You came to earth to dwell.
And now You give eternal life
For all who come to You by faith,
And soon to live with You in heaven
Such love dear Lord help me return.

And soon to live with You in heaven
Such love dear Lord help me return.

The Cross!

Have mercy Lord, convict each soul
That life will soon be past
And of the need to make our peace
By faith beneath the cross…

Lord help us understand the cross
The suffering Christ endured
The sacrifice He made for us
To make us right with God.
God could not be a righteous God
If He ignored our sin.
Christ took our judgment on himself
That we might be forgiven.

Have mercy Lord, convict each soul
That life will soon be past
And of the need to make our peace
By faith beneath the cross.

~

Beneath the cross we understand
So much about our God
But most of all about His love
That goes against the world.
God’s love the world will not accept
Not now nor ever will
Until God’s Spirit wakens us
Our sin is with us still.

Have mercy Lord, convict each soul
That life will soon be past
And of the need to make our peace
By faith beneath the cross…

And of the need to make our peace
By faith beneath the cross!

In Christ some yet shall be forgiven. . .

Washed In The Blood

Though all have sinned and stand condemned
Before the living God,
The Saviour came to earth to die
To save us by His blood…
Rejoice all those washed in the blood
Rejoice and praise our God!
For nothing that this world can give
Compares with Christ our Lord!

Our sinless God became a man
He died at Calvary.
When Christ was lifted on the cross
He died to set us free…
Rejoice all those washed in the blood
Rejoice and praise our God!
For nothing that this world can give
Compares with Christ our Lord!

The sand of time is running out
For those that don’t believe.
Have mercy Lord and help them see
That many may be saved…
Rejoice all those washed in the blood
Rejoice and praise our God!
For nothing that this world can give
Compares with Christ our Lord!

When We Think Again
© 2011 Tom D Blakely
~

When we think again of the cruel death
Of our Saviour on the cross;
Do we ask ourselves was it all for us
For a band of so little worth?
To have left the realms of His glorious home
To restore us all from the fall;
Jesus gave Himself as our sacrifice
For our sin Jesus suffered all.

Yet our risen Lord, by His precious blood
Paid a price we could never pay.
If by faith we know Jesus as our Lord
May we live for Him more each day.
At the end of life as we know it now
Those in Jesus need never fear;
We know heav’n waits where with Christ we’ll reign
Blessed from year to eternal year.

Where Would We Be?

Where would we be
if God’s Son never had died?
For us the Saviour was crucified…

We would be banished forever from God
and left facing His judgment for sin.

Holy is God beyond our reasoning
but our sin taints our knowledge and wisdom.

We have a God who
is greater than ourselves.
He created all things
then gave Himself for us.

God in His infinite mercy and love
had a plan that would blot out our sin.

There had to be someone holy as God
there was only One worthy, His own Son.

We have a God who
is greater than ourselves.
He created all things
then gave Himself for us.

Jesus left honour and glory behind
leaving heaven to show us God cares.

Willingly Christ came as our sacrifice
holy blood was once offered for sinners.

We have a God who
is greater than ourselves.
He created all things
then gave Himself for us.

Who would be banished forever from God
and prefer to face judgment for sin?

All God requires is a penitent soul
that by faith in His Son is forgiven.

We have a God who
is greater than ourselves.
He created all things
then gave Himself for us.

Where would we be
if God’s Son never had died?
For us the Saviour was crucified.
